Size guide
How the shop writes sizes on the wall, and how to find yours. At the bottom: every size on the wall today, each linked to the pairs that come in it.
The letters
- M
- Men's US size. 10M is a men's 10.
- W
- Women's US size. 11.5W is a women's 11.5.
- Y
- Youth: 1Y to 7Y, the sizes after the C sizes, like 5Y.
- C
- Child: toddler and little kids' sizes, like 10C. A few pairs say K instead (9.5K): read it like C.
Kids and youth
- Toddler
- 2C to 10C.
- Little kids
- 10.5C to 3Y. After 13.5C comes 1Y.
- Big kids
- 3.5Y to 7Y. A 7Y fits like a men's 7 or a women's 8.5, so the wall writes it 7Y/8.5W.
Men's and women's: 9.5M/11W
Adult sizes on the wall carry both, men's first: 9.5M/11W is a men's 9.5 with the women's 11 beside it. From 13M up the wall shows the men's size alone: 13M, 14M.
The shop writes the women's size as the men's plus 1.5 on every pair. That is how Nike and Jordan convert, but not every brand does:
- Nike and Jordan: women's is men's plus 1.5. A 9.5M is a women's 11.
- Adidas and Yeezy: women's runs men's plus 1. A 9.5M is a women's 10.5.
- Converse: women's is men's plus 2. A 9.5M is a women's 11.5.
- Anything else: check the box label, or ask the shop.
So on a brand that converts differently, go by the men's size, and check the box label or ask before you buy.
